Baltimore To Host Major Green Roof Event
Green Roofs for Healthy Cities (GRHC), in concert with the City of Baltimore, is pleased to announce that the agenda for the Sixth Annual Greening Rooftops for Sustainable Communities Conference, Awards and Trade Show has been released.
The two-day industry trade show being held Apr. 30 to May 2, 2008, will feature over 90 exhibitors showcasing the latest in green roof and wall products and services. Professional training courses that provide the base knowledge required to become an Accredited Green Roof Professional are also being offered.
“We welcome the global green roof community to Baltimore, especially since we’re committed to making our city the greenest in America,” said City of Baltimore Councilman, James B. Kraft, who is also the chair of the Local Host Committee. “We are honoured to host this special event during Baltimore Green Week – and look forward to sharing with conference delegates all the things that make Baltimore the special place that it is.”
“We are delighted to be working with the City of Baltimore to present an outstanding program for designers, researchers and policy makers who are committed to implementing green roofs and green walls in their communities,” said Steven W. Peck, founder and president of Green Roofs for Healthy Cities. “We’re especially excited about the planned delegate tours to view some of Baltimore’s outstanding green roofs.”
Sponsors of the event include The Home Depot Foundation; The Society of Landscape Architects; GSA; Colbond; GreenGrid; Sika Sarnafil; Tecta America; Tremco and American Hydrotech.
