ISSA Announces Bylaw Changes
Three amendments to association bylaws have been approved by a majority of voting members and were presented at the ISSA General Meeting held during ISSA/INTERCLEAN® North America 2007 in Orlando, Fla. First, moving the association into the 21st century, ISSA members may now vote electronically for board elections and bylaw amendments. Second, facility service provider member companies may now vote in association elections for officers to serve on the ISSA Board of Directors as well as on future proposed bylaw amendments. And third, ISSA has created a building service contractor (BSC) position on the board of directors to be elected in the future by BSC members. Richard (“Rit”) Thompson, CEO of P&R Enterprises Inc., Falls Church, VA, and former head of the ISS Building Service Contractor Council, will serve in this position until an election is held in the routine ISSA election process.
“We are pleased with these changes, which are important for the future of ISSA and bring all the channel partners in the cleaning industry closer together to facilitate strong business relationships and to create more unity toward the important environmental issues, cleaning standards, and business challenges facing our industry.”
