Make Way For Wipes In The Professional Cleaning Industry
A recent survey found that consumers have enthusiastically accepted the use of “wipes” to quick clean, disinfect and sanitize household countertops, appliances, bathroom fixtures and furniture.
The survey found that households across the country are now commonly forgoing conventional cleaning rags or microfibre towels, using wipes instead to remove fingerprints, smudges and water spots.
“Consumers love the convenience of the wipes,” said Angelo Poneris, customer service supervisor for Valley Janitorial Supply. “They use them and then toss them away. They are quicker and easier than conventional cleaning methods, and as consumers become increasingly busy, they are willing to pay for the convenience that wipes provide.”
In addition, the survey found that many consumers believe using a wipe cleans more effectively as well.
However, the cost factor has proven to be a deterrent to their use in the professional cleaning industry. To rectify this problem, Kaivac, developers of the No-Touch Cleaning® system, is introducing KaiWipes™.
KaiWipes are dry-packed in a reusable, refillable – users can purchase new rolls to refill their canister, making them cost effective – and recyclable containers. They can be saturated or soaked with diluted, conventional or Green cleaning chemicals.
According to Poneris, they are perfect for cleaning standard, as well as irregular surfaces, as well as high-touch areas such as door handles, light switches, countertops and other surfaces.
According to the survey, consumers believe that using wipes may be a more effective way to clean, and this may be true.
Recent studies have found that when cleaning with a conventional microfibre cloth or rag, it can leave behind two to eight times more soil on the last surface cleaned than on the first surface cleaned. This means that instead of preventing cross contamination, the cloth or rag is actually spreading contamination, defeating the entire purpose of cleaning for health.
