Canada Green Building Council Appoints Vice President – LEED®
The Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) has announced that Anne Auger has joined the organization to oversee the development and management of the LEED® program in Canada.
A trained architect and member of l’Ordre des architects du Québec and the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, Auger has extensive experience in building design and sustainability in both the public and private sector.
Prior to joining the CaGBC, she was director of the buildings division within the Office of Energy Efficiency at Natural Resources Canada, where she planned and managed energy efficiency programs for commercial and institutional buildings. She also worked for other federal departments where she developed and implemented real property policies and programs. She also has extensive experience working as an architect in the private sector.
“We’re delighted to have Anne join the executive team at the CaGBC to lead the development of the next generation of the LEED Canada rating system,” said Thomas Mueller, president and CEO of the CaGBC. “Anne’s architecture and building energy efficiency expertise, and leadership in green building innovation, will be invaluable as we grow the rating system to include all building types and seek to meet our goal of seeing a 50 per cent reduction in energy and water demand from 100,000 buildings and one million homes by 2015.”
CaGBC is the leading national industry organization advancing green building practices for liveable communities. The CaGBC represents 1600 member organizations involved in the design, construction and operation of buildings, real estate and community development. The Council implements the LEED® Green Building Rating System in Canada.
