ISSA Promotes Wagner to Facility Service Legislative Affairs Director

Dan Wagner has been promoted to the position of director of facility service legislative affairs for ISSA – effective Jul. 1, 2007.

In his new position, Wagner will focus on legislative and regulatory issues that are primarily labour or product-application related and will be the primary contact for ISSA’s facility service provider (FSP) membership class. He will also be the primary contact for associations and other organizations in the facility service community regarding regulatory, health and environmental matters.

Wagner will also continue in his overall responsibility as ISSA director of the Cleaning Industry Management Standard and Certification program – CIMS – to all constituents. Wagner joined ISSA in 1999 as manager of regulatory compliance.

Bill Balek will continue as ISSA director of legislative affairs, retaining primary responsibility for legislative and regulatory matters that are of particular interest to ISSA distributor and manufacturer members.

“In recent years, ISSA has been expanding its efforts to establish and recognize professional standards that apply to the cleaning industry,” said ISSA Executive Director John Garfinkel. “Today’s announcement represents ISSA’s commitment to better serve the needs of FSPs and the cleaning industry at large. This organizational change also anticipates further expansion of the ISSA legislative staff and recognizes the association’s responsibility for environmental issues and the need to support scientific research and its impact on cleaning for health.”

Since most regulatory and environmental matters affect all participants in the industry, Balek and Wagner will continue to work closely together as well as the various government and other agencies, and with the community at large.
