A Canadian Roofing Symposium has been announced by the Canadian Roofing Contractors Association who is in collaboration with the National Research Council of Canada and RCI, Inc. of the United States.
Scheduled for Jun. 4 to 7, 2007, the Symposium will be held in conjunction with CRCA’s ROOFTech 2007 and Annual Conference in Calgary, Alta.
The Symposium will provide a forum for exchange of information on research and practice in roof-related systems. This Symposium will host experts on those and other related areas to discuss issues relevant to building designers, architects, owners, consultants, builders, regulators and practitioners, and provides state-of-the-art knowledge base for better roofing.
The Symposium is expected to address some of the following topics: single-ply membranes and systems, asphalt based membranes and systems, shingles, rooftop gardens/green roofs, code related issues, wind performance, fire performance, lifecycle costing, sustainable roofing, air-barriers, insulation, coatings, quality assurance challenges, specification related issues and roof business concerns.
For those interested in submitting a paper, abstract submission guidelines are available on CRCA’s website at www.roofingcanada.com. Abstract submissions are due Sep. 15, 2006 with notification of accepted papers by Oct. 4, 2006. Papers are due Jan. 5, 2007 with final papers due Mar. 15, 2007.
