JOSEPH W. MELLOTT HONORED RCMA INDUSTRY STATESMAN AWARD

The Roof Coatings Manufacturers Association [RCMA] named Joseph W. Mellott, Director of Technology, The Garland Company, as the recipient of the RCMA's Industry Statesman Award. Until recently, Mr. Mellott was affiliated with Momentum Technologies, Inc., as Vice President of Technology.
The announcement of Mellott as the recipient and the presentation of this special RCMA award was made Jan. 16, 2007, during the RCMA Annual Conference and EXPO, held Jan. 13 to 17, 2007, at Cancun Hilton Golf and Spa Resort, Cancun, Mexico.
The presentation of the Industry Statesman Award is designated only when deemed appropriate through peer recognition. The honoree is recognized "In appreciation for special efforts on behalf of the Roof Coatings Manufacturers Association in advancing roof coatings industry technology."

Over the years, RCMA has only on several occasions identified an RCMA member who has deserved this peer recognition through their interests and activism in promoting and their efforts to achieve significant advancements through the implementation of new technical programming, regulatory or governmental affairs incentives, research activities, technical publications, and RCMA and industry involvement.
"This year RCMA decided to recognize another of our longtime members and to present this discretionary award," commented RCMA Executive Director Reed Hitchcock. "This year's honoree has been with RCMA through the years since the early 90’s and served with several RCMA member companies," Hitchcock noted in remarks, continuing "and Joe Mellott has been a constant participant with an acknowledged expertise in numerous technical, industry and government affairs issues.”  Mellott has served as the RCMA Technical Committee Chair; the 2006 and 2007 Annual Conference Committee chair; as a member of the Board of Directors, and Vice President of the RCMA.
