CARLISLE SYNTEC TO EXPAND SURE-WELD TPO PRODUCTION CAPACITY

Carlisle SynTec, a provider of commercial roofing products, recently announced plans to add an additional Sure-Weld® TPO production line to its newest manufacturing facility in Tooele, Utah. The new production line, which is scheduled to begin operations in approximately 18 months, will be the second Sure-Weld TPO line in the Tooele facility, which opened in November 2005, and the company’s fourth overall. 

Offering two enhancements from Tooele’s current production capabilities, the new line will product 12-foot wide Sure-Weld TPO sheets as well as Carlisle’s FleeceBACK® TPO membranes. This will improve access to these sought after products for Carlisle’s western market customers. 

White and tan Sure-Weld membranes are ENERGY STAR® compliant and CRRC (Cool Roof Rating Council) certified, providing superior reflectivity and “cool roof” capabilities, a desirable attribute in the western market. The energy efficient Sure-Weld membranes can help reduce a building’s air conditioning costs and meet all of the requirements for California’s newest energy code, Title 24. 

All Sure-Weld and Sure-Weld FleeceBACK membranes feature contractor-friendly, heat-weldable seams, increasing seaming speed and providing superior seam strength. Carlisle also offers a full line of pre-fabricated TPO accessories that further increases installation speed, decreasing contractor labour costs and saving building owners valuable dollars in construction costs. 

“Our decision to increase the production capabilities at our Tooele facility was based on the increasing popularity of TPO in the western roofing market,” said Nick Shears, Carlisle’s vice president of sales and marketing. “As the only commercial roofing manufacturer with a TPO production facility in the west, Carlisle has experienced such rapid growth in demand in the year since we opened the Tooele plant that we clearly need to add capacity in order to maintain our industry leading service to the western U.S. and Canadian markets.”
