New Director of Purchasing at Continental Commercial Products

Chris Bond was named director of purchasing for Continental Commercial Products. Bond, who will be based at the company’s St. Louis headquarters, will handle procurement for the company’s four divisions including Continental, Wilen, Glit-Microtron and Disco.

A seasoned purchasing professional, Bond has worked in the home construction, automotive and electronics industries. He comes to Continental Commercial Products with over 10 years of procurement and supply chain experience in various R&D and manufacturing facilities. Most recently, Bond was director of purchasing for Clopay Service Corporation (Griffon Corporation) in Phoenix, Ariz., a $1.2 billion manufacturing and distribution operation that serves the home building industry.

“Continental has a good business plan, a good future and is very progressive,” Bond said. “I am excited to join the company, and especially look forward to the international aspects of the job.”

Bond, a native of St. Louis, Missouri, holds a bachelor of science degree in management from Southwest Missouri State University and an MBA in international business from the University of Phoenix in Arizona. He is studying to take the Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) exam offered through the Institute of Supply Management.

Doug Brady, vice president of operations for Katy Industries, Continental’s parent company, said that “(Bond) has a very hands-on approach to procurement and a creative perspective on purchasing opportunities. He’s a skilled leader and we’re happy to have him on board.”
