CSSA Excited About New Sustainability Program

“… it’s our only home. And that is what is at stake, our ability to live on planet Earth, to have a future as a civilization. I believe this is a moral issue, it is your time to seize this issue, it is our time to rise again to secure our future.”
- Al Gore, An Inconvenient Truth

If Al Gore’s Academy Award winning film – An Inconvenient Truth – didn’t make you believe that the environmental/sustainable movement was here to stay, I am guessing the first 10 months of this year have.

A global pandemic (H1N1) has only strengthened everyone’s belief that we need to place a much greater emphasis on an overall safer, healthier and more sustainable way of life.
In 2009 the Canadian Sanitation Supply Association (CSSA) continued to be a leader in the field of Green Cleaning by launching its Canadian Green Sustainability Program.
This program is an extremely exciting launch by the CSSA. A huge emphasis will be placed on providing the education, tools and support needed for organizations to reach the standards necessary to be recognized as a Canadian Green Sustainable Partner. I encourage distributors, building service contractors, etc. to register on-line at www.cssa.com. Training programs will be starting soon.
As an additional value to our members, the CSSA is proud to present a seminar on Al Gore’s inspirational film – An Inconvenient Truth – Nov. 17, in Halifax, NS, and Nov. 18, in Moncton, NB. For more details, please call 1-800-565-5008.
Looking towards 2010, the CSSA Atlantic Chapter is looking to host a number of events. The Bank of Canada Economic Update seminar is coming next spring; Environment Day, next summer; and, in late September, CanClean Atlantic, a one-day industry tradeshow with a golf tournament the following day.
I think the most exciting thing the CSSA will pursue in 2010 however, is the feedback and opinion of our members and our customers. Please continue to deliver your questions, your concerns and, of course, your ideas, so we can continue to provide the information and opportunities relevant to you.
This year has been a very exciting year for the CSSA and the Atlantic Chapter. Thanks to everyone who volunteered their time and supported the events we hosted. Here’s looking forward to an even better 2010.

- Jeff Zettler, CSSA Altantic Chapter Chair.
